NEWCASTLE Falcons scrum-half Micky Young has been named Guinness Premiership Player of the Month for October.
The 21-year-old, who was runner-up in last season's Premiership Young Player of the Year voting, signed a two-year deal at Kingston Park in the summer.
Falcons director of rugby Steve Bates said: "Micky is an extremely talented player who is improving all the time, and this award is worthy recognition for his performances this season.
"He still has some way to go and is working hard with the coaches here on aspects of his game, but nonetheless it is a great honour for Micky and the club to have received this award."
Meanwhile, Falcons number eight Filipo Levi has been named in the Samoa squad for the autumn internationals against Wales, France and Italy.
