THE CLUB had a very successful end to the month in regards to results. At the Nottingham Sprint Triathlon held on Saturday the 20th May, Tracey Warrior finished the race in a time of 1:28:02, an excellent 8th in her age group, 206th overall; Stuart Rimmer also finished 8th in his age group in a time of 1:16:03, 68th overall. The day after, Jez Ladbury competed in the Phoenix Sprint triathlon at Ragley Hall in Warwickshire, finishing the race in a brilliant 5th in his age group in a time of 1:32:00, 68th overall. In Southport that Sunday, Melanie Rowland was hoping to qualify for the European Sprint Championships. She crossed the line in a time of 1:23:38, 7th in her age group, 49th female, 221st overall, qualification pending. Saving the best until last, on May 27th in the Strathclyde Country Park, Susan Brown was hoping to qualify for Europe in the British Age Group Sprint Triathlon Championships. With a finishing time of 1:14:40, an amazing first in her age group, there was no need to wait for qualification confirmation. She was really pleased with the result as she wasn’t expecting a podium position, she just wanted to qualify.
