Consett are the latest club to attempt to stop the Spennymoor steamroller when they visit the Brewery Field today.

Moors have won all nine of their league games so far this season, but there is one ray of hope for the Steelmen – Moors conceded their first goal of the season in midweek.

Consett manager Kenny Lindoe said: “It couldn’t be more difficult, they’ve got a 100 per cent record and looking like champions again. But we took four points off them last season, and we’ll give it our best shot.”

Defender Scott Martindale and striker Luke Sullivan are both missing because of injury, but Ian Davidson and midfielder Andy Cuthbertson both return.

Moors are without keeper Robbie Deane, defender Callum Griffiths and striker Micky Rae.

Marske United are looking for a new manager following the departure of Craig Gibbin just three months after being appointed. Marske lost 3-0 at home to Billingham Synthonia on Tuesday night to put them sixth from bottom, level on points with three other clubs.

They are at home to Celtic Nation , who have only got 14 fit players, as former pros Jeff Smith and Graeme Lee are amongst six players who are out because of injury.

 

Leaders Darlington are away to Billingham Town. Striker Micky Dunwell and midfielder Craig Perry are both back in the Town squad, but defender Jamie Middleton is missing because of injury.

Newton Aycliffe are hoping to continue their revival when they go to Ashington, having picked up a good point against South Shields in midweek. Manager Allan Oliver will be missing defender Mark Peck, but midfielder Sean Tarling returns. Ashington, who are in midtable hope to choose from a full squad.

West Auckland, who crashed out of the FA Cup at Harrogate in midweek, are at home to managerless Durham, and they will give striker and captain Mattie Moffat a fitness test. Durham are under the control of James Winter and Dan Madden following the resignation of Dickie Ord in midweek.

Shildon, who had a good away win at Celtic Nation in midweek, are at home to Whitley Bay, and will be missing defenders Justin Keegan and Lee Chapman as well as strikers, Billy Gruelich-Smith and Chris Hughes. Defenders John Brackstone and Chris Hunter will have fitness tests. Whitley, who played well in their win at Bishop Auckland in midweek, are without striker Ash Davis, but Callum Anderson, James Novak and James Fairley all return.

Bishop Auckland, who have dropped to ninth, are hoping to bounce back at home to Norton, but their squad is stretched, as defender Phil Shead and youngster Ryan Cummings are both missing. Norton welcome back midfielder Shaun Clarke after suspension and defender Phil Gray after injury, while James Howarth returns from illness.

Guisborough, who are in tenth place, are at home to third placed Bedlington, and manager Chris Hardy is without defender Luke Bythway, while Liam O'Sullivan and Craig bishop will both have fitness tests. Nathan Evans, Jack Connor and Ryan Foster all return to the squad.

Dunston are hoping to build on their good away win in midweek at Billingham Town when they host South Shields, and they add striker Stephen Goddard, midfielder Steve Shaw and defender Micky Robson to their squad.

Billingham Synthonia have climbed into the top six in the last fortnight, and they are away to Team Northumbria without first choice keeper Josh Moody and midfielder Chay Liddle, but striker Nathan Jameson returns.

Promoted Hebburn, who are in seventh place are at home to Sunderland RCA, and they will give fitness tests to Lee Harrison, Liam McBryde, Az Croft and Chris Jewels. The RCA have several players out injured, while recent signing striker Josh Home-Jackson is unavailable.

Newcastle Benfield are at home to Penrith, and they are without defender Kenny Boyle, who has emigrated to Australia, while there will be fitness tests for Luke Gilhespy, Darren Timmons and Gary Ormston. They have also placed former Darlington striker John Alexander on the transfer list.

In the second division , Thornaby are the latest team to test runaway leaders Ryhope CW, and they include new signing Paul Callan against a team that has scored 27 goals in their last five matches. Thornaby are also looking for a new assistant manager following the departure of Ray Morton.

The leaders are without the division’s leading scorer Jon Butler because of suspension, while Dean Arkley and Nathan O’Neill are both missing because of injury.

Northallerton, in second, are at home to Whickham, but they will be missing keeper James Briggs and defender Stephen Banks, but top scorer Carl Chillingsworth returns. Whickham could make changes after a bad defeat in midweek.

Darlington RA, in third place, are at North Shields and are missing striker Fred Huscroft, but Paul Freary replaces him. Defender Gav Swankie and midfielders Michael Barnett and Jamie Smith all have fitness tests. Shields are hoping to complete the signing of Michael McKeown from Seaham before the game.

Chester-le-Street have a tough away game at Morpeth, who are unbeaten in the second division. Rhys Jones returns after work commitments, but there will be fitness tests for assistant manager Ian Davison, plus Mark Gaffney, Michael Hepplewhite, and Calvin Gowland.

Tow Law are at home to second bottom club Ryton, and manager Gary Anderson could choose the same team that shared ten goals in a midweek league cup tie at Stokesley.

Crook are away to Horden, and manager Gary Pearson will be missing defenders Graham Liddle and Corey Barnes, plus striker Chris Lawther are all out injured and keeper Barry Poskett is missing because of suspension. Horden manager Peter Mulcaster is hoping to make at least one new signing before the game following their home defeat by Darlington RA in midweek.

Seaham Red Star , who are in midtable, are at home to Esh Winning and recall keeper Shaun Newbrook after suspension, while Dan Olusoga, Richie Goodman and Adam Bell should also return. Esh add new signing Michael Stothart to their squad, while Scott Richards and Chris Smith also return.

Two clubs in the bottom four, Brandon and Stokesley, face each other.

Stokesley welcome back keeper Graham Willey, and defender Kris Kamara after a long term injury. Micky Lee and Lee Butterworth are both missing.

Birtley are at bottom club Alnwick looking for their second successive win, and they’ll be missing James Allsopp and Andy Inness, while Dan Smith returns.

Jarrow Roofing are at home to Whitehaven, and they will be missing midfielder Michael Hedley and striker Josh Allen.

In the other game, West Allotment are at home to Washington.

Whitby are hoping to progress to the last qualifying round of the FA Cup, but they have a tough away game at Stalybridge.

In the Evostik League, Blyth are at home to Ilkeston.
