Marske United tonight parted company with manager Craig Gibbin, just three months after he was appointed.
Gibbin is one of Marske’s longest serving players and took over during the summer from long serving manager Paul Burton. However, Marske dropped into the bottom six of the ENL First Division on Tuesday night when they lost 3-0 at home to Billingham Synthonia, and tonight Gibbin and chairman Peter Collinson met and decided that a parting of the ways was best for everyone concerned.
“It wasn’t working out,” said Collinson. “Craig was an inexperienced manager, and the job was a lot harder than he thought it would be. We both thought that nothing was going to change, and it was best for us to part company.
“We will have an emergency committee meeting on Friday night to decide on our next move, but we have nobody in mind for the job.”
Gibbin was previously assistant manager of Stokesley, and brought some members of the Stokesley backroom staff with him.
