Highly rated Ryhope CW striker Chris Winn has signed a contract with the second division club.
Winn, 21, is one of the reasons why Ryhope are currently top of the league after winning promotion from the Wearside League last season, having bagged 13 goals in the league so far.
“Chris’ decision to sign a contract gives us peace of mind,” said manager Martin Swales. “There have been several clubs from the first division looking at him, but he’s been quite loyal to us, because he could have moved on. He’s still a bit raw, but he’s got pace to burn, and that’s what’s been troubling opposing defences.
“He’s working well with Johnny Butler up front, Johnny himself has scored 19 goals this season, and the pair of them have been quite a handful.”
