The six STL Northern League clubs left in the FA Carlsberg Vase have been scattered far and wide in the fourth round draw.

Three have been drawn at home. Holders Whitley Bay face Surrey club South Park, from the Combined Counties League. Manager Ian Chandler said: "We've got to be delighted at a home draw, and we've avoided the other Northern League clubs."

Newcastle Benfield will play the winners of the Hanworth Villa or Herne bay replay. Herne Bay lost to Whitley at the same stage last season.

Billingham Synthonia are at home to Runcorn Town, who are currently top of the North West Counties League, and who lost to Dunston last season. Assistant manager Lee Tucker said: "We have to be happy with a home draw, but to be top of a strong league such as the North West Counties means that we will have our work cut out to reach the next round."

West Auckland, the second favourites for the competition, must travel to Bristol in order to play Bitton from the Western League. "I'm pleased we've avoided the other Northern League clubs, but it will be a trip into the unknown. I'm convinced Ian Chandler at Whitley Bay does the draw!" Bitton lost to Bedlington in the Vase six years ago.

Dunston must go to Cambridgeshire in order to play Wisbech from the Eastern Counties League. "Our problem will be finding the opportunity to watch them," said manager Billy Irwin. "We'll be going there full of confidence though."

Ashington have been drawn away to Newport Pagnell in Buckinghamshire from the United Counties League.
