Darlington RA went joint second with a 4-0 home win over Alnwick in the STL Second Division last night.
It took an hour for the RA to break the deadlock, when Steve Allison fired home from just inside the area, then Graham Whitehead converted a penalty for a foul.
James Evison rounded the keeper for the third on 86 minutes, and in stoppage time Michael Barnett added the fourth. Darlington RA manager Nick Harrison said: "I'm very happy. It was the same scenario as last Saturday -- we worked hard, were good defensively and once we got the first goal we relaxed. I hope we stay injury free and keep the same depth in the squad as we have now."
Northallerton beat Crook 3-1 in the Ernest Armstrong Memorial Cup. Dan Clayton ran through and gave Northallerton the lead, but Luke Proctor equalised midway through the half.
Peter Bulmer restored Northallerton’s lead, with Grant Hickman getting the last touch from a Bulmer corner near the end. Northallerton manager Mark Fanning said: "We played some good quick passing football in the first half and a bit unlucky to be only one goal in front at the break. Second half was much more even but we defended well when we had to and our third goal killed the game with only ten minutes left." Crook joint manager Paul Adamson said: "We were poor on the night and gave some sloppy goals away."
