Jarrow Roofing striker Aristote Guerin-Lokonga could be breaking through into the Football League.
20 year old Guerin-Lokonga, from the Democratic Republic of Congo, played in a behind closed doors friendly at Home Park yesterday, and might have done enough for the Pilgrims, who are bottom of the Football League, to offer him a contract. He is on trial there for ten days.
Argyle currently only have three strikers on their books, two of whom are apprentices.
Guerin-Lokonga is represented by former Newcastle and Spennymoor centre half Wes Saunders, whose former club Torquay United have also registered an interest.
"At Plymouth Aris has a better chance of first-team football," said Roofing manager Richie McLoughlin.
"They've just come out of administration, have a new manager (Carl Fletcher) and not a big squad.
"He's got nothing to lose as they are bottom of League Two and no one will expect the world from him."
