South Shields have appointed Jon King as their new manager following the weekend resignation of Gary Steadman.
King was previously assistant to Steadman, and before that was boss at Morpeth.
Shields chairman Gary Crutwell said: "Jon was the first choice of the committee to replace Gary and we are delighted he has accepted the position. We firmly believe Jon is the right man to build on the great work Studs achieved in his time here."
Lee Picton, who won two FA Vase winners' medals with Whitley Bay, has been appointed his assistant.
