Hebburn brushed aside any worries of a hangover from their FA Cup heroics when they won 2-0 at Second Division leaders Team Northumbria tonight.
In only their eighth league game of the season, Hebburn won with a goal in each half by Stuart Nicholson to inflict only the third league defeat of the season on Team Northumbria.
Hebburn manager Paul Bennett said: "It was another good team performance. The lads were superb and dominated the game from start to finish playing some excellent football. All the lads have shown a professional attitude and responded well to the things we have asked of them. A much needed rest now and also an important three points as we don't play another league game until November 5th."
Team Northumbria director of football Paul Johnson said: "Hebburn were the better side, and we gave them too much space, time and respect. That's our second poor performance in a row now, and it could be because the players have got complacent and we needed the defeat to shake things up."
