Darlington RA were knocked off the top of the second division table by a late Team Northumbria goal last night.
TN looked as if they would have to settle for a 1-1 draw against Northallerton until Peter Watling scored the winner in the last minute. Gavin Donoghue scored earlier for TN, to cancel out Carl Chillingsworth's opener for Northallerton from the spot. TN director of football Paul Johnson said; "Northallerton have been the best of the teams we have faced so far and they looked to try and play some possession football so they were another good test for us. We are happy to come through and get another three points towards our aims."
Northallerton manager Mark Fanning said: "There were one or two questionable decisions that went against us, plus we were punished for a mistake that led to the second goal." STL Northern League Division Two.
