Former Hartlepool manager Paul Baker has quit as manager of Newcastle Benfield for the second time.
Baker decided to leave immediately after Benfield's home defeat by Sunderland RCA, but his departure appears to have nothing to do with the result, a 2-1 home defeat, which left them third in the table.
"I've quit on a matter of principle," he said. "I've done the job to the best of my ability, but that has been questioned."
Baker's assistant, Alu Bangura, will probably be in charge of Benfield's next game, the FA Cup tie at South Shields on Tuesday night.
