Midfielder Gareth Waite has returned to Spennymoor after an 18 month spell in the Football League.
Waite joined Darlington when they were in League Two during the January 2010 transfer window when former ROI manager Steve Staunton was in charge, and made his debut in a 2-1 away win at Rotherham.
However, after playing 15 games for them, he suffered a knee injury that ruled him out for the rest of that campaign.
He recovered and played six games last season under new Darlington boss Mark Cooper, but he suffered another injury which ruled him out for the rest of the season.
He has now undergone surgery, which means that he will be missing when the new STL Northern League season kicks off on August 13th.
