Bishop Auckland have re-signed their former striker Wayne Gredziak from Bedlington – and manager Colin Myers is hoping that his return will give Bishops a welcome boost.
Gredziak moved to Bedlington three months ago, but the move hasn’t worked out and he has become available again. Myers pipped at least one other club in the race for his signature.
“When Wayne was at the club before, he made everybody click, so we’re pleased to bring him back to the club,” said Myers.
“For example, with Wayne alongside him, Adam Emson scored 25 goals last season, but after Wayne left for Bedlington, he’s only scored one. We hope he’ll give the club a boost.”
Gredziak will make his return debut for Bishops, who are just above the relegation zone, on Tuesday night against Billingham Synthonia, the first midweek league game at Heritage Park.
