Crook manager Brian Maitland said that he was very proud of his players after giving First Division Norton a scare in their Durham Challenge Cup final last night.
Crook were starting to think of extra time with the score 1-1 going into the last ten minutes, but a penalty by Craig Gott put Norton in control, with Jamie Owens quickly firing a third.
Maitland said: "Considering that we only had the bare eleven, then we did very well indeed.
"I was very happy with the performance, especially from the youngsters we had to call upon because of all our suspensions.
"We had two chances to go into the lead at 1-1 that could have turned the game our way."
