Dunston gained some valuable match practice before Saturday’s FA Vase tie with a comfortable 4-0 home win over Jarrow Roofing.
Roofing keeper Shaun Newbrook pulled off several good saves before he was finally beaten after 39 minutes by a Steve Harkin effort into the top corner from a Steve Goddard pass, and just on half time Ben Cattanach scored from 25 yards.
Lee McAndrew opened up the Roofing defence for Steve Preen to hit the third, and sub Michael Hepplewhite made sure near the end.
Dunston are now up to seventh in the table.
The game between Tow Law and league leaders Consett was postponed just before kick off because of a frozen pitch.
