West Auckland and Spennymoor are poised for a November trilogy following the second round draw of the Durham Challenge Cup.
The two clubs are already looking forward to a second round Vase tie on November 13th and a STL Northern League game on November 27th, but now they’ve been paired together in the second round of the Durham Challenge Cup.
West boss Peter Dixon said: “We’ll probably get Spennymoor in the League Cup as well.”
Newton Aycliffe, who pulled off one of the best victories in their short history against Consett in the last round, are away to EvoStik League side Durham City.
The full draw is: Whickham v Norton, Billingham Synthonia v Boldon CA or Hartlepool United, West Auckland v Spennymoor, Durham City v Newton Aycliffe, Billingham Town v Gateshead, Dunston v Bishop Auckland, Wolviston v Crook, Sunderland RCA v Chester-le-Street. The ties are due to be played by next Saturday, November 6th.
Boldon CA are playing Hartlepool United this Saturday in their outstanding first round tie.
