Darlington RA are hoping to cause another upset in the Durham Challenge Cup tonight.

The RA beat first division side Esh Winning in the last round, and tonight they’re at Billingham Town, and strengthened by the returns of first choice keeper Phil Pentone, as well as Phil Caley and Jordan Tomlinson.

Town, who drew at Penrith last Saturday, add defender Jamie Middleton and midfielder Craig Perry to their squad, but midfielder Graeme Baverstock is suspended.

Spennymoor go to Tow Law in the match of the night, and they will be missing recent signing Alex Francis, who is cuptied having played for Gateshead earlier in the competition. Defender Paul Stephenson returns to the side after a one match ban. Lawyers are still without injured player manager Ian Davison, while striker Matty Scott is suspended. Davison might rest several players.

Norton face Darlington’s second string at Station Road, and are missing midfielder Craig Gott because of suspension.

Jarrow Roofing are hoping to cause a shock against Durham City, who could make several changes to the team that lost at home to Halifax in the FA Trophy last Saturday.

Horden are badly hit by injuries for their home tie with West Auckland, with ten players either unavailable or missing, including striker Bakary Bojang.

West are missing striker Danny Hindmarch, who dislocated his shoulder at Esh Winning on Saturday.

Chester-le-Street, boosted by their win over Crook last Saturday, are without Nicky Kane at home to South Shields, who welcome back keeper Josh Carmichael. Shields have put midfielder Jonny Wightman on the transfer list at his own request.

Sunderland RCA are at home to last year’s beaten finalists Ryton, and manager Neil Hixon could make a couple of changes.

Whickham, who are flying high in Division Two, have a local derby at home to Birtley, and will be without defender Adam McLane, who is suspended. Birtley are missing Colin White, who scored one of the goals in their draw with Guisborough at the weekend, because of a foot injury.

Dunston, at home to Wearside League Houghton Town, are missing Kane Young because of injury, but Steve Pickering will replace him.
