Whickham went fourth in the STL Second Division on Friday night with a 3-1 home win over Thornaby.
Ross Peareth gave them the ideal start with a goal after 2 minutes, but Ian Bishop equalised on 9 minutes.
But Whickham took control in the second half, and scored through Carl Pennington ((58) and Tony Thirkell (76).
