Newton Aycliffe went top of the STL second division with a 2-0 away win at Marske United last night.
Warren Byrne put them in front from the penalty spot after 29 minutes after he was brought down, then just on half time Paul Broom made it 2-0 from a Fred Woodhouse pass.
North Shields beat Darlington RA 4-1. Shields sub James Luccock scored all four for Shields, his first coming just four minutes after he came on as a 22nd minute sub. Fred Huscroft scored the Ra’s consolation.
