Billingham Synthonia beat Bishop Auckland for the second time in three days. Both sides had chances in the first half, and on the hour Synners took the lead from the penalty spot through Nathan Jameson. Bishops had youngster Arran Wearmouth dismissed for two bookable offences in the second half, they also had four other players booked.
Whitley Bay warmed up for their FA Cup tie at Guiseley on Saturday by beating Sunderland RCA with two first half goals by Paul Chow. Adam Johnston missed a penalty in the second half.
South Shields climbed away from the bottom three by beating West Allotment 3-0, all the goals coming late in the game. West Allotment’s Kevin Hughes was red carded for a professional foul, and Shields scored in the last 25 minutes through Lee Paul Scroggins -- who earlier missed a penalty -- Paul Kane and Sean Sweeney.
