Bishop Auckland are going for swift revenge when they play Billingham Synthonia for the second time in three days tonight.

Bishops agonisingly lost to an extra time winner against ten man Synners on Sunday in the FA Carlsberg Vase, and now they travel to Central Avenue hoping for three points in the league. The match has been switched because West Auckland’s pitch is unplayable after heavy use at the weekend.

Bishops boss Colin Myers was furious with the way his side failed to beat ten men in extra time, and will almost certainly make changes to the team.

Synners will recall striker Jamie Magowan, but Liam McPhillips and Andy Forster are both missing.

Whitley Bay, with one eye on their FA Cup tie at Guiseley on Saturday, are at home to Sunderland RCA, and welcome back Darren Timmons from a knee injury.

Meanwhile, Spennymoor have signed defender David McTiernan from Whitby Town, and he’ll go into the squad for Saturday’s away game at Billingham Town.

In the second division, second placed Newton Aycliffe go to Marske United, who are fifth. Aycliffe will be missing striker Danny Mellanby and defenders Paul Stout and John Close. Marske, who have won their last three, are without strikers Benn Thompson and Rob Jones. Aycliffe could go top if they win.

Darlington RA are at North Shields, and welcome Jamie Smith and Mark Jenkinson back into their squad, but Dave Webster, James Howlett and Dave Young are all missing. Shields, who are eighth, are missing Rob Livermore and Paul Watson.
