Consett let a 4-1 lead slip away and lost 6-4 at Bedlington in the ENL tonight.
They scored twice within a minute early on through Michael Mackay and Luke Sullivan, but Bedlington pulled one back through Lee Scott.
However, Sullivan soon made it 3-1 on 25 minutes, and Mackay bagged another for 4-1. But Scott and Jordan Nellis pulled goals back before half time, and in the second half Scott completed his hat trick, with Dylan Williamson scoring two more.
Dense fog saved Crook Town from a hiding at Newcastle Benfield.
They were 5-0 down at half time. They conceded twice in the first 10 minutes, and they were up against it after that. Steve Tobin (2), Paul Brayson, Michael Riley and Michael Hoganson all scored.
North Shields came back from 2-0 down against Ashington to win 3-2.
Kyle Oliver scored twice in the first 16 minutes, and then had a penalty saved by Shields keeper Chris Bannon after 32 minutes. But Shields stormed back in the second half, with goals by Greg Bainbridge, Denver Morris and Curtis Coppen.
