Consett striker Luke Sullivan scored four to give him 34 for the season in a 7-1 win over Marske in the ENL First Division last night.
Consett took the lead on 15 minutes with a 25 yard free kick that Sullivan curled into the top corner of the net – his 31st league goal of the season-- but Marske levelled when Josh MacDonald raced clear and slotted the ball home.
Consett replied when Sullivan made a good run down the left and set up Michael Mackay to score his 28th league goal of the season, and before half time Andy Cuthbertson volleyed in from a David Brown corner.
Sullivan showed good control before he volleyed home the fourth, and Calvin Smith got the fifth with a 30 yarder. The uncontrollable Sullivan quickly added two more to give him four for the night.
Sunderland RCA picked up three valuable points in their fight against relegation with a 5-3 over second bottom Hebburn.
Hebburn, with only two wins all season, took the lead through Channon North after 8 minutes, but RCA levelled through Joe Hughes from a Kyle Fryatt cross.
Gavin Barton then scored twice in the space of three minutes to put RCA 3-1 up before North pulled another back just on half time.
A Calvin McMahon penalty pulled Hebburn level, but straight away sub Callum Patton put the RCA ahead again. Hughes got the fifth from close range.
