Bishop Auckland striker Andrew Johnson finished top of the Northern League scoring charts for the second season running when he scored one of Bishops goals in their 2-1 home win over Guisborough at Heritage Park last night.
Nathan Steel gave Guisborough a half time lead , but then Johnson and Kyle Swankie scored within the space of three minutes.
Johnson finished the season with 38 league goals, one less than last season, when he was also leading scorer.
Spennymoor now have the highest points per game ratio outside the promoted clubs in the country after a 3-0 win at Celtic Nation last night gave them 106 points for the season with one game still to play.
There is speculation that because some clubs are dropping out of Step 4, then the FA might go back on their word and take two clubs from the Northern League for the Evostik League.
Shildon finally finished their fixtures with a 3-0 win at Sunderland RCA, to put them in eighth place.
