Bishop Auckland manager Colin Myers rested his full first team with tonight’s Durham Challenge Cup final against Spennymoor in mind as they lost 8-0 at home to Billingham Synthonia last night.
Myers along with assistant Steve West and physio Michael Walker started the game, and they were 2-0 down by the 18th minute. Nathan Porritt scored a hat trick for Synners, with Chay Liddle (2), Steve Huggins (2) and David Abel getting the others.
Sunderland RCA still have a chance of avoiding relegation after they beat Billingham Town 2-0, Jamie Clarke scoring both their goals, one of them a penalty.
The RCA still need to beat Shildon in their last game next Wednesday to avoid the drop, and hope that Newcastle Benfield lose their last two matches against Consett and Spennymoor.
