HARTLEPOOL UNITED (4-4-2):
6 Flinders: Confident handling and did what was asked, but left open to be beaten;
5 Duckworth: Pools hope his groin injury isn’t serious. Good on the ball and in possession, although questions asked about defending for the second goal from the short corner
5 Collins: First-half dominant defending as the ball was pumped onto him, but lost his man for York’s first two goals
6 Harrison: Like Collins firm first half, but too open and exposed in the second period
5 Austin: Third goal came from an opening down his flank; switched sides when Duckworth went off;
6 Richards: Linked up well with Duckworth, but generally didn’t get the ball over into the area as asked
6 Featherstone: When Pools were on top, he was dominant in keeping Pools ticking over and pressing
7 Walker: In the main, first half especially, was as positive on the ball as he has been in weeks
5 Franks: Busy, but not enough end product as he flattered to deceive on too many occasions;
7 Harewood: Bustling and strong performance before his withdrawl – the striker Pools really need in the coming weeks
7 Fenwick: A satisfying scoring debut and he put himself about, letting the visiting defenders know he was there.
Subs:
Ironside (for Harewood 63): Introduced at a very difficult time when Pools had just conceded 5
Campbell (for Richards 67): Bright and busy and created a good chance within a minute of his arrival 6
Jones (for Duckworth 79)
