Final Score: Hull City 1 Newcastle United 4
ALAN PARDEW was sent to the stands after a confrontation with David Meyler as Newcastle United recorded their sixth away win of the season at Hull City.
A brace from Moussa Sissoko and goals by Loic Remy and Vurnon Anita made it 4-1 and back-to-back wins in the Premier League despite Curtis Davies’ second half goal for the Tigers.
However, the talking point of the game will be Pardew’s dismissal after the Magpies boss appeared to push his head into Meyler’s chest after the former Sunderland midfielder has brushed past him on the sidelines.
The Magpies remain eighth in the table on 43 points and two behind Mancester United in seventh.
Pardew made two changes to the side that beat Aston Villa last weekend with Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and Luuk de Jong both coming in for Fabricio Colccini and Papiss Cisse.
The Magpies started brightly at the KC Stadium with Yoan Gouffran firing wide after some sustained pressure in Hull’s half.
In the ninth minute, however, Steve Bruce’s side should have gone ahead when Alex Bruce rose above everyone to get a header in on goal, but Tim Krul denied the defender with a point-blank save before picking up the rebound.
From the chance, Newcastle broke up field and in the tenth minute Pardew’s side went ahead seconds after they could have gone behind.
Loic Remy sent Mathieu Debuchy down the right and the defender pulled the ball back to Sissoko in the area, who curled a lovely first-time effort inside Allan McGregor’s near post.
Just before the hour mark Hull had a chance to draw level when Ahmed Elmohamady found Nikica Jelavic but the striker’s header went agonisingly wide for the Tigers.
Jelavic had another chance to draw his side level in the 36th minute from a set-piece, but his free-kick deflected off the wall and onto the bar before the Magpies scrambled the ball away.
Four minutes later Shane Long produced some great play on the left and, after twisting and turning Mike Williamson in the channel, sent an inviting cross to the back post but Elmohamady’s header again went wide.
The Tigers got a goal back straight after half-time when Tim Krul came to meet Tom Huddlestone’s free-kick, but was beaten to the ball by Curtis Davies, who headed in to an open net.
The hosts’ joy was short-lived, though, when Sissoko grabbed his second after McGregor parried Gouffran’s shot straight into his path.
It could have been four when Debuchy’s first time effort was blocked by de Jong and Gouffran saw a shot cleared off the line.
Then, with his side 3-1 up and in control, Pardew was sent to the stands.
The Magpies boss appeared to lean in with his head at David Meyler, after the former Sunderland midfielder had brushed past him to retrieve the ball on the sideline.
Referee Kevin Friend booked the player for the incident, but sent Pardew to the stands leaving assistant John Carver to oversee the final 20 minutes.
Remy had another chance to score a second with an attempted lob, but McGregor did enough to punch the ball wide.
A fourth did come in stoppage time when Vurnon Anita tucked home from close range after Paul Dummett’s shot was parried by McGregor.
