A LAST-GASP Darryl Duffy goal earned Hartlepool United a 1-0 win over Peterborough - and secured a place in the record books in the process.

Pools have now won eight games in a row, eclipsing the previous club record of seven successive triumphs.

And Pools have not conceded a goal in 680 minutes of football - 11 hours and 20 minutes of action - which is another club best.

Pools were dominant against The Posh, but were denied by keeper Paul Rachubka on many occasions.

But they kept going, passing the opposition off the pitch, and got their reward at the death.

Substitute David Foley, a late replacement for the outstanding Eifion Williams, had an opening but saw his shot blocked by the legs of the keeper.

But the ball spun up into the air and Duffy bundled it over the line from close range to create a slice of history.
