DANNY Wilson's Hartlepool made it seven successive wins in League Two, after seeing off Grimsby at Victoria Park.
And, in the process, they kept another clean sheet, making it 592 minutes since Dimi Konstantopoulos was beaten.
The victory equalled a club record run of wins.
But there was a blow as Micky Nelson suffered damage to his medial knee ligaments and is facing around two weeks on the sidelines.
Jon Daly's first goal since September 30 put Pools in front and Andy Monkhouse made it two.
The winger signed a short-term emergency loan from Swindon after his initial month expired. His new deal runs out on January 2.
