Adam Lyth completed his second century against Somerset at Taunton in four years this afternoon, with captain Andrew Gale adding a welcome unbeaten fifty.
Left-handed opener Lyth, who scored 142 in the LV= County Championship defeat on this ground in 2010, posted a fluent 105 during the afternoon session of day two as Yorkshire reached tea at 218-3 from 64 overs.
Lyth notched three figures off 150 balls including 15 boundaries during a third-wicket stand of 103 with Gale, who has recorded his first four-day half-century since last September.
Lyth, dropped on 37 before lunch, will have been furious with the way he perished. He pulled Gemaal Hussain to Peter Trego at mid-on to leave the score at 185-3.
Gale, who has been subjected to a frustrating start to the 2013, has since moved to 50 off 130 balls with five fours. Gary Ballance has also hit five fours in an unbeaten 25.
