ASHINGTON'S Mark Wood is in line for his home championship debut when Durham entertain Sussex in the final match of the season, starting today.
With little at stake, Durham may as well give Wood another opportunity after his five-wicket haul won the match against Nottinghamshire last month.
Both his championship appearances to date have been at Trent Bridge, although he did impress in the first-class match at home to Australia A.
He could replace Callum Thorp, who bowled only six overs in Durham's last match at Liverpool and needed an injection in his back.
Otherwise the team is unchanged with Michael Richardson being given another chance at No 3.
Durham would have to gain maximum points for the first time this season to have any hope of climbing above their current sixth place, while Sussex have a chance of finishing second.
Sussex are expected to include England wicketkeeper Matt Prior, and if Murray Goodwin plays it will be his farewell appearance as his 12-year reign at Sussex is about to end.
Play begins at 10.30 each day.

Durham face Lancashire in the Second Eleven Trophy final today at Northern CC, Crosby, with a noon start.
