NEWCASTLE have rescheduled the tribute to former player Gary Speed that was originally planned for this weekend.
Newcastle officials had intended to stage a rendition of the Welsh hymn, "Bread of Heaven", and were planning to get supporters in the East Stand to hold up black and white cards depicting Speed's number 11 shirt.
However, Speed's widow, Louise, has expressed a desire to be present when the tribute takes place.
She has already agreed to be at Elland Road today, as Leeds United pay their own respects to the former Wales international, who died last weekend.
Newcastle will now host their own tribute at the club's next home game against Swansea City on December 17.
However, there will still be a minute's applause in Speed's honour ahead of today's game.
