FOLLOWING a week of video nasties, Neil Austin is hoping for a bit better viewing to come.
Pools' defensive unit suffered last month, as they shipped 15 goals in six games.
The four they conceded at home to Charlton last weekend led to a series of meetings and a dressing room inquest into recent form.
But, on Saturday at Leyton Orient, Pools showed the stability at the back that served them so well in the opening weeks of the season as they drew 1-1.
And Austin, Pools scorer from the spot, admitted: "During the week we watched a DVD of some clips of goals conceded and bad defending and now hopefully we are back in on Monday to watch a DVD of the good defending after that.
"The errors we watched were a bit embarrassing to see so I think a lot of people have reacted well.''
He added: "We have not been doing our job defensively in recent games and were going so well at the start of the season because we were.
"There was a resolve to end the run of bad results going into this week. We've had a few meetings with the gaffer and as players as well and we have had a good response.
"A few harsh words were said and there was a good response.
"The resolve was there and the meetings we have had worked. It;s up to the guys out there playing to do their bit and we've some strong characters in the dressing room.
"It's a game we could have won, but pleased with a draw. ‘'
Austin netted his second penalty for the club, scoring in the second-half and has no worries from the spot in a game in which he spent the first half on the right wing.
"If Adam Boyd isn't' on the pitch, I'll have the penalties. I was going to go the other way but changed my mind at the last minute and it came off.
"James Poole fancied the penalty, as a striker that's understandable. I was undecided which way to go, but we practice them in training so I was confident.''
"I was asked to do a job out wide, a bit more defensive away from home, but we did a job.
"I've not played right wing for a while, not since my Barnsley days. I've plated there a few times, but not for a few years.
"I got switched to left back in the second-half but I don't mind playing left back either.''
