HARTLEPOOL United ended a run of three successive losses to move up to seventh in League One.
Two goals from James Poole and one from Paul Murray earned Pools a fourth away win of the season.
It was their first victory since winning at Bournemouth last month – and a fifth loss in a row for the hosts.
The Spireites went ahead when Leon Clarke curled a low shot into the net from an angle after a cross from the right by Danny Whittaker.
But it didn't take long for Pools to turn the game around and get in front.
First up and Paul Murray lifted a header from 25 yards into an empty net after goalkeeper Greg Fleming went walkabout.
And a minute later, James Poole put the visitors ahead with an angled drive into the corner from some distance - another spectacular goal to add to his tally.
Fleming was having a torrid time and was almost beaten by Andy Monkhouse from 40 yards, the keeper backpedalling to tip the ball over the bar.
Poole gave Pool a two-goal cushion at the start of the second-half when he met Evan Horwood's cross to plant a header home from ten yards, his fifth of the season..
Defender Dean Holden got one back soon afterwards when a long free-kick wasn't cleared, but Pool held on quite comfortably.
