STEPHANE SESSEGNON will be Sunderland's lone striker for the Black Cats' trip to Arsenal today.
Manager Steve Bruce has opted to field a 4-5-1 formation at The Emirates, with Nicklas Bendtner ineligble to play against his parent club. Sessegnon will be backed up by a five-man midfield, with Jack Colback returning to the side to partner Lee Cattermole at the fulcrum of the five.
David Vaughan, Ahmed Elmohamady and Seb Larsson are expected to provide the attacking threat from midfield.
Ji Dong-won is on the bench after returning from international duty with South Korea, where his manager took in a game while on club business in Asia.
Arsenal make three changes to the team that lost 2-1 at Tottenham, bringing in Carl Jenkinson, Laurent Koscielny and Tomas Rosicky. Gervinho partners Robin van Persie in attack.
