JEREMY NOSEDA’S recent Kempton winner Point North is being aimed towards the Royal Hunt Cup at Ascot next month.

The Shalfleet handler saddled Forgotten Voice to win the fiercely competitive one-mile handicap a couple of years ago and Point North appears a major contender having won as he liked on that recent return to action.

Barry Simpson, racing manager for the owner Sir Robert Ogden, said: ‘‘He’s entered in the Royal Hunt Cup and provided he gets in, I think that’s where he’s very likely to go.

"I was pleased with his win at Kempton the other day – it was a good, honest performance. He’s entered at Newmarket on Saturday, but he is not a definite runner."

• Brian Meehan is gearing Dangerous Midge’s campaign towards another crack at the Breeders’ Cup Turf, which he won last year.

The five-year-old struck at Churchill Downs in the hands of Frankie Dettori last November and all roads lead to a repeat bid.

Dangerous Midge is currently having a break after a disappointing run in the Dubai Sheema Classic at Meydan in March.
