SUNDERLAND have announced their second pre-season friendly date by revealing they will travel across the Pennines to face Championship side Burnley at 3pm on Saturday July 30.
The fixture will be the first between the clubs since the Clarets were relegated from the top-flight at the end of the 2009/10 campaign, with Eddie Howe’s side narrowly missing out on a play-off place last season as they pursued an instant return.
Sunderland confirmed yesterday that they will play York on July 13 and they are expected to announce a two-game trip to the continent in the gap between.
