MIDDLESBROUGH goalkeeper Jason Steele and Sunderland midfielder Jordan Henderson have both been named in the England squad for this summer's European Under-21 Championships in Denmark.
However, there is no place in the squad for Boro full-back Joe Bennett, who was included in the provisional squad that was selected last month.
England boss Stuart Pearce has also excluded Jack Wilshere, who is named in Fabio Capello's senior squad for next month's Euro 2012 qualifier with Switzerland, and former Newcastle striker Andy Carroll.
Steele is one of three goalkeepers selected, and the Newton Aycliffe-born shot-stopper is likely to be on the bench when England play their opening group game against Spain.
However, Sunderland-born Henderson should make the starting line-up, and is one of four players selected with a senior cap to their name.
