After spending last season at Hull City, the Peru international has made a suprise return to the North-East. He rejected the chance of a new deal at the KC Stadium.
The 36-year-old moved to Newcastle in 1998 for £2.5m and spent six years on Tyneside where he became a huge crowd favourite.
