CROFT Circuit is hoping for a bumper weekend as the MCE British Superbike Championship rolls into town.

Three days of action on the track starts tomorrow and manager of the circuit near Darlington, Tracey Morley, said they had been inundated with calls.

"As soon as any of our team has put down the phone it has immediately rung again and it's been like that for probably the last two weeks now with requests for single day, full weekend or grandstand tickets," she said. "Although we've now stopped taking orders over the phone people can still pay in cash on the gate.

"Our advance sales are at least a match for our BSB events in the last few years and it's important to remember that this is not just a major sporting event just locally but also for people from a much wider region. A lot of calls have been from the Lakes, the Borders and as far south as Lincolnshire.

"As ever we're working very closely with the police and local authorities to ensure access to and from the circuit is as swift as possible for all those visiting us over the weekend.

"Certainly the atmosphere is going to be terrific and there's the added bonus for public that once through the gate they have open access to the BSB race paddock and, on Sunday morning, the pit lane autograph session with the Superbike riders.

"We always look to encourage families to attend - the weekend is full of entertainment and our pricing policy means free admission for accompanied children aged 15 and under."
