There is an intriguing game in prospect today in the Durham Senior League when Castle Eden entertain newcomers Kimblesworth.

Both opened their account with nine-wicket victories last week and now it's time for the two newest kids on the DSL block to lock horns.

Castle, promoted in 2010, kept their heads above the relegation waters last year, but expect to do much better with that experience under their belts, while there is every indication that Kimblesworth's focus will be on the top end.

Castle welcome back Ross Kirtley for his seasonal debut, while their visitors are at full strength, including their close season signing from Sunderland, Colin Myers.

Norton were on the receiving end of the Kimbles mauling last week, so view their home match against Philadelphia as the chance to kick start their campaign. Nick Thomas bolsters the home line-up after finishing his rugby season, but Phili have an embarrassment of riches with Andrew Robinson and Chris Noble added to last week's XI.

Durham City were Phili's opening day Bunker Hill victims, and with Dani Hazell and Steve Brooke out today City will find it a tough task to get the better of unchanged Whitburn.

Champions Boldon travel to Burnmoor, who have Dave Lowther missing but Barry Dews is back. Felling hand new signing Connor Elliott a debut against same-again South Hetton, and Eppleton keep faith with their side for the home match against much changed Horden.

Spectators turning up at Evenwood for the visit of Willington today can expect to see a few runs in the Durham County League game.

The teams have already amassed just under 500 each in their opening two games, with some outstanding individual performances. Ryan Nicholson's 182 tops the pile, but Neil Pratt has two centuries from two outings, the latest Monday's 155.

And just in case more runs are needed the visitors have promoted Fergus Hopper to the first team after he broke the League's individual Division B batting record last week with an innings of 223. Evenwood are bolstered by the surprise return of Chris Coatsworth from Mainsforth.

One of those two sides will lose their hundred per cent record, but the other three teams who are protecting that status are kept apart today. Unchanged Brandon visit Mainsforth, who are now looking for a keeper after Coatsworth's departure, Crook are at full strength for the visit of Tudhoe, while Langley Park lose three key players for the trip to Esh Winning, Jamie and Jason Winn plus David Jones.

Bill Quay hold pole position in the Durham Coast League after just one week - there were four winners on day one but the Albion were the only side to pick up more than 20 points.

They welcome Seaham Harbour to Hall Terrace today although Joe Dodd misses this one, so Matty Dench's availability is timely. Harbour include Michael Rich and Michael Agar to strengthen their batting.

Shock first day winners Peterlee promote Connor Dickinson to fill the hole left by one of last week's star performers, Min Mahill, when they entertain Ryhope, while new signing Craig Stephenson debuts for Dawdon at Boldon CA who have David Tate back in action.

Just three unblemished records remain in the NTSL after two rounds of matches, and Sacriston aim to make it three on the trot when they tackle Burnopfield.

They are at full strength with the return of Ben Hall and Mark Fort, but their visitors will be missing Gary Innes.

Annfield Plain hand a debut to new Aussie pro Dav Lemm at Percy Main who have played particularly well despite the toughest of opening matches. Richie Walker is back for the Main, while it is hoped pro Anirudh Singh will have arrived for his first match.

Swalwell's only doubt is the availability of Kyle Coetzer, however opponents Tynedale have major concerns over three injured players, with Richard Darling, Jamie Crichton and Mark Drake all doubtful.
