MATTHEW BATES and Julio Arca have both been recalled by manager Tony Mowbray as Middlesbrough look for the three points that guarantees Championship status.
Both players needed to be rested when Barnsley travelled to the Riverside Stadium on Saturday, but they have been included in the starting line-up at Turf Moor.
Bates and Arca's returns means that Andy Halliday and Andrew Davies are the men that make way, while striker Leroy Lita has returned to the bench after a hamstring tear.
Mowbray looks to have opted for a five-man midfield to face Burnley, who are looking to use their game in hand to close the five point gap to the play-offs.
BURNLEY (4-4-2): Jensen; Mears, Duff, Bikey, Fox; Elliott, Cork, Eagles, Rodriguez; Marney, Iwelumo. Subs: Grant(gk), Alexander, Carlisle, Wallace, Delfouenso, Thompson, Duffy.
MIDDLESBROUGH (4-5-1): Smith; McMahon, Bates, McManus, Taylor; Robson, Williams, Thomson, Arca, Taylor; McDonald. Subs: Coyne (gk), Davies, Flood, Lita, Halliday, Kink, Smallwood.
