SUNDERLAND goalkeeper Trevor Carson has joined League One side Brentford on loan after completing an eight week spell with League Two outfit Lincoln City.
The 22 year-old joined the Red Imps with the club sitting bottom of the division, helping Steve Tilson's side to rise seven places during his 16 appearances.
His form, contributing to five victories in his first five outings as a Lincoln player, didn't go unnoticed and Carson has now agreed a move to Griffin Park until the end of the season after catching the eye of Bees manager Nicky Forster.
Carson, who was called up to the senior Northern Ireland squad for the first time in 2010, joins fellow Sunderland youngster Adam Reed on loan at the West London club, with a trip to Wembley for the Johnstone Paints Trophy Final now just ten days away.
Brentford will face fellow League One side Carlisle United at Wembley, with the possibility that Carson and Reed could play against fellow Sunderland youngster Liam Noble, who is on loan at the Cumbrians.
