KIRKBYMOORSIDE upset the form book to reach the final of the Monkwearmouth Charity Cup.
Leaders New Marske, with only two defeats all season, had home advantage but were rocked when the visitors scored twice in five minutes just before the interval and held on for a 2-1 win.
Ryan Rivis drove past goalkeeper Adam Norton, who was quickly beaten for a second time by Rob McDermott.
The Seasiders had the chance to get back into the game on 75 minutes but Paul Millward’s penalty was saved by Darren Collier.
The Marske keeper then prevented his side from going three goals down when he denied Ryan Rivis from the spot and there were only three minutes remaining as Sean Mackin struck, but his goal was too little too late.
Kirkbymoorside will meet Ryhope CW in the final.
Redcar’s Richie Playforth headed in on 52 minutes, but within four minutes the Wearsiders equalised with a penalty by John Butler.
The visitors clinched the tie as Butler’s header was cleared off the line and sliced into his own net by Jamie Lee.
In the league, there was an amazing game at Perth Green, where Jarrow defeated Annfield Plain 6-4.
There looked no way back for the visitors when Jarrow romped into a five-goal lead by the interval, courtesy of Peter Kane (2), Paul Turrell (2) and Christie Elliott.
Plain must have responded to a half-time team talk and incredibly could have been level had Dominic Elliott not failed from the penalty spot.
The fightback began when Roy Gordon and Elliott scored within two minutes of the restart. Dean Lee made it 5-3, then came Elliott’s miss, before Lee Kirkbride struck.
At 5-4 it was anyone’s game but the pressure was eased on Jarrow when Liam Clark scored to make it 6-4.
The goals also flowed at Silksworth, where Willington defeated Ashbrooke Belford House 4-2.
Michael Weston and Danny Lee had them two-up at the break and although Lee Andrews reduced the deficit, Willington made it four thanks to Adam Blenkinsopp and Weston. David Baxter claimed a second goal for Ashbrooke.
A hat-trick by Kallum Hannah was the feature of Wolviston’s 4-0 victory over Boldon CA. Paul Vickers was also on target.
Hartlepool lost to Stockton Town’s Gavin Wilcox’s tenthminute strike.
Easington Colliery moved top after sharing the points at Darlington Cleveland Bridge, who were first to score through Danny McLachlan.
Barry Turton then scored twice, only for Michael Carter to levelwith a penalty. Easington went ahead through Chris Tarn before Christian Holliday made it 3-3.
