SILVER Turn appears to be a filly on the upgrade and she can make it a quick double for trainer North Yorkshire Bryan Smart at Wolverhampton.

The three-year-old was limited to just one start as a juvenile, finishing a fair fourth in a moderate maiden event at Catterick after missing the break.

She then repeated that trick when tried on the allweather for the first time earlier this month, getting a bit left behind before swiftly making up the ground.

Silver Turn then travelled well throughout and eventually came home two lengths clear without her jockey really having to hit top gear.

That win sees her switch to handicap company and an initial mark of 77 looks highly workable and given that she is so unexposed, Silver Turn could be anything.

Nafaath looks an animal of some potential and he is the choice in the Richmond Beginners’ Chase at Catterick.

A useful performer on the level for Kevin Prendergast, the five-year-old won one of his two hurdles starts last term before finding the leap to Grade One company a step too far at Aintree.

He then made a belated start to the year at Ayr earlier in the month, with Howard Johnson switching him to fences at the Scottish venue.

Nafaath duly ran an excellent race to finish just a nose behind Wind Shuffle and after making a few slips over his fences that day, he should be much wiser this time.

Hunterview has been finding it tough going this season but his recent effort at Exeter provides plenty of hope for Kelso’s Timeform Jury Handicap Hurdle.

The five-year-old likes to do it from the front but he has been denied that early lead on a couple of occasions this term.

However, allowed to employ front-running tactics last time, he ran an improved race to finish third to the classy Salden Licht. If a similarly positive plan is in place this time, Hunterview will take some beating.
