CHRIS Hughton has made wholesale changes to his Newcastle United side for this evening's Carling Cup fourth-round clash with Arsenal.
Only two players - Tim Krul and Mike Williamson - survive from last weekend's 2-1 Premier League away win at West Ham.
Williamson will be partnered by Tamas Kadar at the heart of defence, with Ryan Taylor and James Perch lining up on either flank.
The midfield is completely different to the one that lined up at Upton Park, with Danny Guthrie and Wayne Routledge playing on either side of a central pairing of Alan Smith and Haris Vuckic.
With Andy Carroll and Shola Ameobi both rested, Nile Ranger will partner Peter Lovenkrands in attack as Newcastle look to make the League Cup quarter-final.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has named a reasonably strong starting line-up, with the likes of Kieran Gibbs, Theo Walcott, Tomas Rosicky, Emmanuel Eboue and Nicklas Bendtner all starting at St James'.
NEWCASTLE (4-4-2): Krul; R Taylor, Williamson, Kadar, Perch; Guthrie, Smith, Vuckic, Routledge; Ranger, Lovenkrands.
Subs: Soderberg (gk), Coloccini, Enrique, Barton, Tiote, Gutierrez, Carroll.
ARSENAL (4-4-2): Szcesny; Eastmond, Koscielny, Djourou, Gibbs; Walcott, Denilson, Rosicky, Eboue; Vela, Bendtner.
Subs: Fabianski (gk), Sagna, Fabregas, Arshavin, Emmanuel-Thomas, Lansbury, Nordtveit.
