SCOTT McDONALD has been only named on the bench for Middlesbrough at Norwich City this afternoon.
McDonald, the £3.5m January buy from Celtic, has been left out at the expense of teenager Luke Williams at Carrow Road, where caretaker boss Steve Agnew could revert to a two-man attack.
The return from injury of Kevin Thomson has also meant there is no place in the team for loan signing Mikael Tavares, who is also among the substitutes.
Middlesbrough need to win to keep out of the Championship's bottom three this afternoon, with Agnew likely to be taking charge of his second and last match in charge.
