GUY Wilks will be aiming for his fourth straight Intercontinental Rally Challenge podium finish next month, when he takes his Skoda UK Motorsport Fabia S2000 to Sardinia.
Two out of the four rallies contested so far this season - Rally Brazil and Rally Islas Canarias - have been new adventures for Darlingtons Wilks, yet he has finished on the podium both there and Argentina. He currently lies second in the drivers' standings, tied on points with Jan Kopecki, while series leader Juho Hanninen makes it a Skoda 1-2-3 at the top of the drivers' table.
Skoda also leads the IRC manufacturers' standings.
Wilks and co-driver Phil Pugh will be back on more familiar territory next time out, as they have contested the Sardinian Rally twice before.
The rally will start in Cagliari, to the south of the Mediterranean island, on June 4, and finish in Olbia, on the north coast, on June 6. Thirteen stages, totaling around 155 miles, will be staged on the spectacular gravel roads in between.
