DIVISION TWO side Belvedere rounded off their season in style with a win over Lakeside in the Paul Stevens Memorial Cup Final.

Lakeside never got out of bed and put in a disappointing performance in what was their only final of the season.

Belvedere, however, made up for their Division Two Cup final defeat at the hands of Quinns to bag a cup for the season in what was the league's last game of the campaign.

Jonathan Millward opened the scoring for Belvedere after a quiet first half which brought no goals.

Andy Kay drew Lakeside level but goals by Lee Nixon and another from Millward all-but guaranteed the victory, with a late Marc De Lucia proving just a consolation.

"It was great to finish with a win," said Belvedere boss Karl Thompson. "The lads battled hard and I think deserved the win. It was especially pleasing after the other final, when we battled but were easily beaten. This time we've got the result and the trophy!"

A disappointed Lakeside manager Stuart Hodgson admitted: "We were never in the game and Belvedere never stopped chasing it for the full 90 minutes, so congratulations to them on their success."

Meanwhile, Masons Arms lifted their game to comfortably beat Hunwick Joiners in the Division One Cup Final.

After the disappointment of their B&A Trophy Final defeat at the hands of Division Two side Quinns, Masons played some of their best football of the campaign to consummately overcome Hunwick.

Two goals by Marc Costello plus others from Kevin Dodds and Tom Fothergill made sure of the victory.

And Masons boss Stuart Savage said: "The game started tightly but after ten minutes we got into our rhythm and ended up playing some of our best football this season. Everything clicked on the day and it was pleasing to play so well. Hunwick didn't really get into it, we didn't let them, and we pretty much dominated the whole game."

Hunwick secretary Aiden McCabe conceded: "It was our worst performance of the season, and we picked a game to do it! We just didn't get into the game at all and it was very disappointing, especially with our very last game of the season. That said, I'm taking nothing away from Masons, they played very, very well and really gave us a lesson in football, and it wasn't exactly the kind of game we wanted that to happen!"
